Andy Kuchar is the Vice President of Risk Management for Wendy’s/Arby’s Group. Wendy’s/Arby’s Group is the nation’s third largest quick service restaurant company and is comprised of the Wendy’s and Arby’s brands, two companies distinguished by traditions of quality food and service. The company, with approximately $12 billion in system-wide sales, owns or franchises over 10,000 restaurants. He is responsible for the structuring and placement of the firm’s multi-national, multimillion dollar corporate insurance program, including all coverage lines and leads a seventeen-person department of risk professionals. Andy is the former Director of Risk Management for Post Properties. Post Properties is one of the largest developers and operators of upscale multifamily communities in the U.S. and has operations in 10 markets across the country, employing approximately 800 people. Post Properties owns 22,209 apartment homes in 62 communities. Prior to joining Post Properties, he was a risk manager for iStar Financial. iStar is a publicly-traded finance company focused on the commercial real estate industry, providing custom-tailored financing to high-end private and corporate owners of real estate nationwide. Before working for iStar, he was a Risk Management Manager at the RTM Restaurant Group in Atlanta which owns and operates 900+ quick service restaurants. Andy was also an instructor at the University of Georgia, where he taught several courses in risk management. He holds a Doctorate degree in Risk Management & Insurance and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting; both from the University of Georgia. He is a Past President of the Atlanta RIMS Chapter. He earned his Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter designation in 2000 and his Associate in Risk Management designation in 1998.
